What a treat I have for you! These apricot wedding ideas are all kinds of beautiful.
First up; the apricot, peach, green and white colour scheme is so very pretty. In part thanks to the abundance of summer wedding flowers adorning the wooden tables and the dreamy cake creations by shoot organisers The Floral Potager and Rowan Tree Bakery respectively.
There was also delicate and detailed illustrated stationery, rustic furniture and the loveliest outfits, all set in a magical barn complete with fairy lights. Do also look out for the epic flower installation that surrounds the main wedding cake, it’s a show-stopper!
Gem Hicks Photography has kindly provided these exquisite images, which I am sure you are going to fall head over heels for.
Apricot Wedding Ideas
Our ‘Summer florals, cakes and cocktails’ wedding shoot concept was created and styled by two wedding creative friends; Sacha Allen of The Floral Potager and Sarah Barnett of Rowan Tree Bakery. We were over the moon to have Gem Hicks of Gem Hicks Photography on board for the shoot. We knew that Gem was the perfect person to capture the ethereal summer vibe we were aiming for!
Our vision was to create a relaxed, idyllic shoot centred on an abundantly filled tablescape showcasing Sacha’s stunning seasonal flowers, complimented by Sarah’s dreamy and delicious cakes, to be enjoyed with a fruity floral cocktail after the wedding ceremony!
Soft pinks, warm apricots, fresh greens and classic white was the colour palette of choice for this shoot, with Gem flawlessly capturing the fresh, bright summer light. Pots of home-grown herbs and edible flowers are dotted across the table for guests to pick and add to their cocktails.
There are cakes of all shapes and sizes to suit all desires, including mini chocolate and almond cakes, carrot, orange and pecan cupcakes, and a fresh raspberry and orange drizzle bundt cake to slice and share.
Our venue was the intimate and historic Tithe Barn in the North Somerset town of Nailsea. The barn dates back to 1480, and has been restored to its medieval origins, but with all the modern facilities you need for a wedding.
The barn’s stonework, timber beams and vaulted ceiling are beautiful unique features, and the perfect background to make our colourful tablescape sing in all its glory. We wanted to showcase the barn’s tall feature window at the end of the room, which naturally draws the eye.
Sacha constructed a huge floral semi-arch of climbing roses around the window – a real feat of engineering! The structure mirrors the wild, rambling path of roses climbing in their natural state.
Meadow flower boxes dotted with peach foxgloves surrounded the base of the climbing roses, seamlessly blending the scene together. This structural form created the perfect spot to frame the tiered wedding cake.
Sarah’s three-tier buttercream wedding cake is inspired by the summer grasses in the fields surrounding the farm where she lives. Grasses and delicate dried flowers were weaved onto thin wire hoops to decorate the wedding cake, creating a wild, romantic style. Touches of gold leaf were added for an element of luxury.
Sarah is passionate about using locally sourced ingredients and produce for her bakes, and decorates her cakes with flowers and herbs grown in her own garden or from Sacha’s flower farm, to ensure the decorations are chemical-free.
Our bride holds an abundant and wild bouquet of fragrant honeysuckle, peonies, roses and sweet peas, tied with a hand-dyed peace silk ribbon dyed with flowers from Sacha’s garden. The scent from this bouquet was just stunning!
Sacha also created delicate dried flower crowns for the bride and flower girls. These are a thoughtful and sustainable addition to any wedding, as they are an everlasting memento of your wedding day.
All flowers used in the shoot were grown locally by Sacha on her flower farm using sustainable and eco-friendly methods to ensure a positive impact on the environment.
Our shoot is a celebration of fantastic quality Somerset provenance from independent South West wedding suppliers. The beautiful wedding stationery, cocktail menu and table place name cards were designed by From Sally With Love featuring a delicate watercolour flower border in pink, peach and fresh green tones.
Sally painted all the florals in the stationery using soft delicate tones to create a summery, pretty and whimsical design which is now available as part of her house collection.
Sally also designed a gorgeous cake menu printed on organic cotton, frayed at the edges to add to the rustic feel, which was displayed to catch the breeze.
Tables, chairs and glassware were supplied by Tables and More, Bridgwater.
We loved creating this dreamy styled shoot with our fellow South West suppliers. We hope you love it too!
