Holbrook Manor Wedding

The Vision

We are furniture makers that create vibrant eclectic pieces and fill our home and world with colour. So we and everyone around us knew it would be a colourful wedding. I wanted to create something unique and bring out our personalities in the theme.

Our colour palette was fuschia pink, sunflower yellow and deep teal.

I had my heart set on getting married outside at our beautiful wedding venue Holbrook Manor and prayed for good weather which we fortunately got! I spent a lot of my wedding planning on Pinterest creating fabulous boards of outdoor ceremonies.

These were full of foliages and super magical, then I realised most of the shots were in America or abroad somewhere where good weather is pretty much guaranteed! Haha.

But as I say, we had beautiful weather and were able to get married outside with the vision we dreamed of. We had three handmade wooden arches covered in florals, rose petals scattered down the aisle and the chairs had different coloured velvet ribbons draping down the backs.

Your Outfits

My Dress – My dress is from Sassi Holford, it is called Stephanie. The sleeves were created to a bespoke length and shape for me. The fabric is a silk brocade.

I went into Sassi Holford a week before my original appointment as there was a sample sale on. I luckily had my appointment with Sassi Holford herself who is amazing at what she does and brutally honest!! I tried a few dresses on and thought I’d found my dream dress, it was called Phoebe, covered in pearls and very different to the dress I actually went for.

I went back to Sassi Holford on the day of my appointment once the sample sale had finished and their new collection had been brought out onto the shop floor where me and my twin sister spotted Stephaine for the first time! Instantly fell in love!!

Ed’s suit was rented from Bakers of Bond Street, it was a traditional tweed colourway that suited his complexion perfectly. We were a bit worried the boys might be a bit hot in Summer in their three piece tweed suits but they were all absolutely fine!

Bridesmaid dresses were all from Needle and Thread. I absolutely loved the girls’ dresses. They were all the same pattern Bijou Rose, but all had different necklines, shapes and detailing. Standing together they looked unbelievable!

The Ceremony & Music

The coordinators and the ushers helped set up the ceremony outside the morning of the wedding whilst me and my bridal party were upstairs in the house getting ready. When I walked downstairs and outside, this was the first time I saw everything I had planned set up.

Everything was how I had imagined, cream carpet laid out, arches were positioned in three different places along the aisle covered in our flowers which were really colourful.

My golden retriever Ralph walked down the aisle with two of my bridesmaids and was such a good boy! He had a cream lace collar and lead with a bow made by Sassi Holford in the same fabric as my wedding dress! In the evening when I took my detachable sleeves off, I put a matching bow that had a hair grip in my hair to match him too!

Walking down the aisle song – Can’t Help Falling In Love – Kina Grannis
Signing song – Ben Howard – Only Love
Exiting ceremony song – A Sky Full Of Stars – Coldplay

Your Photographer & Filmmaker

James & Kerrie Photography – They were amazing from start to finish. Captured our day perfectly and we have received so many lovely messages from family and friends complimenting our photographers and photos.

The Styling & Decor

Cake – 4-tier cake made by the incredible Tib, Little Buttercup Cakery. Our cake is probably one of the things I was most happy with. It was covered in dried flowers, but next level!! They were jumping out from the cake and the colours were so bright and beautiful.

Cake flavour from bottom to top was Victoria sponge, elderflower and lemon, chocolate fudge, cookies and cream. Tib also made macaroons for each of our day guests and hand-painted their name on top which we used for their place names.

Flowers – Petals Perfections. Another amazing supplier, Carol captured my vision down to a T!! The arches that she covered were perfect and my bridal bouquet was so colourful with the prettiest
flowers. I also had velvet ribbon draping down from the bouquets.

For our table arrangements, I had gold towers with my flowers sitting on top crawling out for half and then gold bowls with our flowers in for the other half.

I bought Graham & Green dinner candles in my colours, placed four on each table, they really added some colour.

My sister made golden retriever cookies for wedding favours and velvet hair scrunchies from our businesses’ fabric for the ladies.

Our table numbers were black and white photos of me and Ed at the age of the table number, they were really cute!

Table plan was a large antique-looking mirror that I painted large sunflowers on. The middle of the sunflower had the table number in and the petals had people’s name in.

Ed made a crisp wall, that went down a treat!!

The Honeymoon

Fiji! Two weeks in beautiful Fiji, we had the most amazing time. Fijian people are sooo friendly, everyone made us feel so welcome. The island is really untouched and isn’t built up at all. We went jet skiing, river tubbing, snorkelling, and fishing, it was amazing!

Memorable Moments

My Dad walking into my bridal suite and seeing me for the first time on my wedding day. James and Kerrie captured a beautiful photo that I will cherish forever.

Advice For Other Couples

You guys do you!! Ed and I planned our day exactly how we wanted it and because of that I can honestly say that there isn’t a single thing I would change about the day.

Don’t try and people please. On the day everyone is full of so much love and happiness!

What a feast for the eyes!

Emily and Edward, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your spectacular Holbrook Manor wedding story with us.
